Nothing has changed for Clay-Chalkville in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A poll.
The Cougars (5-0, 3-0 Class 6A, Region 7) remain No. 2 behind Hoover (5-0). Clay-Chalkville garnered two first-place votes. Hoover received the other 30. Clay-Chalkville plays host to Grissom (0-5, 0-3) on Friday night.
The rest of the Class 6A top 10, in order, includes McGill-Toolen, Opelika, Bob Jones, Smiths Station, Vestavia Hills, Auburn, Carver-Montgomery and Shades Valley. The latter two teams are tied for the ninth ranking.

Hewitt-Trussville (2-3, 2-1 Class 6A, Region 6) travels to No. 9 Shades Valley (5-0) in a tough region matchup Friday.
In Class 5A, Center Point (5-0) entered the rankings at No. 7 after upsetting No. 1 McAdory last week in overtime. Pinson Valley (3-2, 2-1 Class 5A, Region 6) takes on Center Point at Bowman Field on Friday.
