Two Clay-Chalkville senior football players have been selected to play in the 27th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Game on Dec. 14.
Quarterback Hayden Moore and defensive lineman Jalen Harvey were selected Sunday to play in the game, which will take place at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Moore is committed to play college football at the University of Cincinnati. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Harvey is currently uncommitted, but holds scholarship offers from Austin Peay, Northern Colorado and Old Dominion.
Before Clay-Chalkville’s loss last week at Gadsden City, Moore had completed 61 of his 94 passes this season for 917 yards and 11 touchdowns to no interceptions. He had rushed 54 times for 493 yards and five touchdowns. Harvey was third on the team with 22.5 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
The afternoon game will be televised live by AHSAA TV partner Raycom over stations in Alabama and Mississippi. Montgomery affiliate WSFA TV 12 is the Raycom’s anchor station for the annual event.
Alabama holds a 19-7 edge in the series, which was played at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium from 1988-2010. Last year’s 21-16 win was the fifth straight for Alabama.
