A lot is on the line for Pinson Valley on Friday at Springville.
Walker leads Class 5A, Region 6 with a perfect 5-0 record but is disqualified from playoff participation after an early-season brawl between coaches after the Cullman game.
Center Point is 4-1 in the region, its only loss to Walker. Then it gets bunched up.
Pinson Valley, Moody and Mortimer Jordan are all 3-2 in the region. The Indians have beaten Mortimer Jordan and host Moody next week. Moody blasted Mortimer Jordan earlier this month.
Springville has a 2-3 region record but could make things interesting with a win over Pinson Valley and at Walker next week.
Junior running back Nick Gibson rushed for 118 yards and three scores in a 35-0 Pinson Valley throttling of Springville last season. Pinson Valley got back on track last week after two straight losses, scoring a school-record 74 points in a shutout of Curry.
Expect a focused Pinson Valley team to earn a hard-fought win over the Tigers, using a stout running game and opportunistic defense to seal a victory.
