Friday should be a celebratory night at Clay-Chalkville.
The Cougars host Lee-Huntsville in the teams’ final Class 6A, Region 7 game of the season at 7 p.m. at Cougar Stadium.
Clay-Chalkville (7-1, 5-1) can lock up the regular season region championship if it gets by Lee-Huntsville (2-6, 1-5). It would be Clay-Chalkville’s second straight region championship. It won it in 2011 but forfeited nine wins due to playing an ineligible player.

The Cougars should have little trouble doing so. Lee-Huntsville has surrendered 41 points per game in region contests and scored just 14 per game in those six games. Clay-Chalkville is one of the top offenses in the state, averaging close to 44 points per game this season.
Expect Clay-Chalkville to have a comfortable lead by halftime and for many of the younger players to see a significant amount of snaps in the second half.
