Two Chalkville Elementary School counselors last month won the Recognition of Accountability, Verification and Excellence bronze award from the Alabama School Counselor Association.
Counselors Pam Beckham and Lynn Wasylenko won the award.
The award is awarded for exemplary implementation of the comprehensive counseling and guidance model for Alabama public schools.
“Our counselors provide a data-driven, student-centered program focusing on academic, personal/social and career competencies and based on national standard and the guidance model for Alabama public schools,” said Principal Rod Johnson. “We have a student support team, use innovative programs that get results, engage our parents and community, and have a counseling curriculum.”
It is the fifth year in a row that a Jefferson County school has won some part of the RAVE award.
