The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Freeze Watch for early Wednesday and Thursday mornings when temperatures are expected to hit the mid to lower 20’s on both days.
The thermostat is expected to dip to 26 on Wednesday morning and and 23 on Thursday morning with a high on Wednesday of 47 degrees.
According to the weather statement issued by NWS, the freeze could kill crops and sensitive vegetation and stop growth cycles across central Alabama.
The week should be mostly dry with rain chances not returning until Friday with a 20 percent chance of precipitation. .
