A bomb threat has been reported at the Center Point Satellite Courthouse.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Randy Christian said a black male called the radio room about 7:30 a.m. and advised that he had planted a bomb at the courthouse.
A sheriff’s sergeant checked and requested a bomb dog respond to the location.
“The grounds are being checked and all citizens have been removed to a safe area until the building and grounds can be checked,” Christian said. “At this time nothing has been located.”
8:55 a.m. update: A deputy has checked the area with the bomb dog and nothing was located, Christian said. The citizens have been allowed to enter the building and it is open for business.
