TRUSSVILLE — Charges are expected to be filed in the Thursday afternoon shooting death of 82-year-old Ken Millar at a home on Rockridge Avenue in Trussville.
Trussville Police Chief Don Sivley said investigators are meeting with officials in the district attorney’s office at 1:30 p.m. today to determine what charges may be filed.
Millar was shot in the chest in his home during an altercation with Freddie Earl Patton, who also lived at the home, Lt. Jeff Bridges said.
Millar was transported to an area hospital but did not survive the shooting, Bridges said.
Bridges said a report of the shooting came in to dispatchers about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Bridges said a person of interest was still on the scene when police arrived.
