TRUSSVILLE – Freddie Earl Patton of Trussville has been charged with murder in the Thursday afternoon shooting death of 82-year-old Ken Millar at a home in the 500 block of Rockridge Avenue in Trussville. He is in Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $150,000.
Millar was shot in the chest in his home during an altercation with Patton, who also lived at the home, Bridges said.
Millar was transported to an area hospital but did not survive the shooting, Bridges said.
Bridges said a report of the shooting came in to dispatchers about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Bridges said a person of interest was still on the scene when police arrived.
