PINSON — A pharmaceutical courier was robbed in Pinson today while making a delivery to Rite-Aid.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian said four black male suspects approached the courier and forced him into his van. He was driven to a vacant house, where the four men bound him with zip ties and pulled a toboggan over his head, Christian said.
Christian said the men unloaded the drugs from his van, placed them in a red SUV and fled the scene. The victim was able to get free and reach help, Christian said.
Christian said it is not yet known what all drugs were taken.
“Obviously this was someone familiar with the operation,” Christian said. “That will help us.”
