TRUSSVILLE – Two people are in Trussville City Jail in connection with a possible meth lab found in a Trussville hotel Sunday night.
Trussville Police Department Lt. Jeff Bridges identified the suspects as Joyce Elaine Clifton, 32, of Trussville, and Joseph Noel Nix, 36. Neither have been charged but charges should be forthcoming, Bridges said.
Bridges said that a smoke alarm went off in a room at the Quality Inn on Norrel Drive on Sunday night. When officers and fire personnel arrived on the scene, officers were let into the room, where it is believed that a homemade meth lab was located in the bathroom, Bridges said.
The Birmingham Police Department and Birmingham Fire Department assisted.
The Trussville Police Department is still investigating.
