TRUSSVILLE — The field is deep for the New Year’s Shootout, a girls basketball tournament that begins next Friday at Hewitt-Trussville.
Pinson Valley faces Gadsden City in the opening game at 1:30 p.m. next Friday. Hewitt-Trussville follows that game at 3 p.m. with a contest against Briarwood.
Clay-Chalkville plays against a solid Scottsboro team at 4:30 p.m. Vestavia Hills, which won the Bryant Bank Thanksgiving Classic over Hewitt-Trussville last month, plays at 6 p.m. against John Carroll.
The winner of the John Carroll-Vestavia Hills game and the Scottsboro-Clay-Chalkville game play at 11:30 a.m. next Saturday. The winner of the Gadsden City-Pinson Valley game and the Hewitt-Trussville-Briarwood game play at 2:30 p.m. next Saturday.
The championship game will be Monday, Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. at Bryant Bank Arena.
