TRUSSVILLE — In what organizers hope will become an annual event, the Trussville Civic Center will host the Cahaba Countdown twenty14- A New Year’s Eve Party. Trussville Utilities is the presenting sponsor of the Dec. 31 party to welcome in the new year.
Chevy 6 will be the feature band and special guest Sidecar will provide the entertainment for the night.
Chevy 6, arguably one of the most enduring and successful party bands in the Southeast, has been revving up audiences since the group formed in 1974. The band was formed by Ben Burford on the University of Alabama campus and was an immediate hit with their 1950s and 1960s revue show.
Sidecar has become popular among local music lovers over the last five years. The group plays their original songs as well as popular covers.
Doors will open at 8 p.m. and a photo ID will be required. Tickets are for a single, for a couple and 5 for a group of eight. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The first two beverages are free.
Tickets are available at www.trussvillechamber.com or at the civic center at 5381 Trussville-Clay Road.
