ALBERTVILLE — Clay-Chalkville is headed to the Albertville Civitans Christmas Classic championship.
The Cougars (13-5) defeated Scottsboro 57-43 to advance to Monday’s championship game against host Albertville. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday.

Against Scottsboro, senior Brian Clark led the way with 17 points. Junior point guard Hasan Abdullah scored 16 points, dished four assists and had four steals.
Pinson Valley (9-7) defeated Class 3A No. 2 Holly Pond 71-70 in the same tournament Saturday. Senior Zach Jackson scored 13 points and senior Austin McKinney scored 12 points, all on 3-point shots. Senior forward Kerry Griffith scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while senior Harrison Johnson scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had four steals.
