ALBERTVILLE — Albertville held Clay-Chalkville to fewer than 10 points in each quarter to down the Cougars 55-31 in Monday’s Albertville Civitans Christmas Classic championship game.
Albertville led 35-13 at halftime.
Junior guard Edward Leggett scored seven points for Clay-Chalkville (13-6). Junior forward Sean Burrell added five points.
For Albertville, Braxton Morris scored a game-high 21 points while Alabama signee Riley Norris scored 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
Clay-Chalkville won games over Ashville, Minor and Scottsboro in the tournament. Pinson Valley posted a 2-1 record in the tournament, with wins over Westbrook Christian and Holly Pond, and a loss to Guntersville.
