HOMEWOOD — The Hewitt-Trussville varsity boys basketball team fell 62-54 to Bessemer City in the first round of the Metro Tournament at Homewood on Thursday.
Senior guard Jarvis Calhoun led Hewitt-Trussville (12-5) with 21 points. Senior forward James Huguley added nine points.
Johnathan Coleman led Bessemer City with 21 points.
Hewitt-Trussville faces Thompson today at 4:30 p.m. at Homewood in the loser side of the bracket.
The Hewitt-Trussville varsity girls (11-7) host Chelsea today at 6 p.m. The Clay-Chalkville varsity girls and boys basketball teams travel to Hueytown today for games at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
