HOMEWOOD — Three Jefferson County residents interviewed Monday morning for the open seat on the Jefferson County Board of Eduction.
Eighteen residents had applied for the seat left vacant by Ronald Rhodes, who resigned in November.
The three remaining candidates include Martha Bouyer, Dean Taylor and Ann Underwood. The seat winner is expected to be named later this month.
Bouyer is a retired supervisor of social studies for Jefferson County. Prior to that, she served as a teacher at the now-closed Hewitt-Trussville Junior High School.
Taylor is an employee of Web Payroll, and Underwood has been a former Jefferson County Schools PTA Council president and employee in the school system’s Department of New Construction.
One of the 18 who applied for the job included Rebecca “Bebe” Pitts, of Clay.
