TRUSSVILLE- The National Weather Service in Birmingham is reporting a a chance of minor snow accumulation in Central Alabama as an Atlantic Clipper swings through the state Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Any snow accumulation is dependent on available moisture in the air as the system moves through and that is the factor that remains unknown, according to the NWS.
Via Facebook, the NWS in Birmingham said sunny skies today (Tuesday) with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. An quick moving Alberta Clipper swings into the region tonight and the area has the potential to see some rain mixed with snow, before transitioning to all snow overnight.
The overnight forecast calls for a chance of rain and snow showers between midnight and 3 a.m., then a chance of snow showers after 3 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 32. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. The high on Wednesday is expected to be 37.
