TRUSSVILLE — Two Hewitt-Trussville runners signed national letters of intent today at the high school.
Veronica Lyle signed with the University of Alabama. Alexandra Pidcock signed with the University of North Alabama.
Lyle this week won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs in the Class 6A indoor track state championship. Lyle will likely be a middle distance runner in college.
Pidcock will likely be a long distance runner at North Alabama.
“She’s going to be a great asset to UNA,” Hewitt-Trussville coach David Dobbs said.
Dobbs said both will find success.
“Great girls, a great testament to the school,” he said. “I think they’ve got great, bright futures ahead of them.”
