TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is investigating the Tuesday burglary of several businesses in the Trussville Plaza shopping center on U.S. Highway 11.
Lt. Jeff Bridges said in the early hours Tuesday, three males, who appear to be white and wearing hoods and masks, broke into a now-vacant gym in the shopping center at 1423 Gadsden Highway in Trussville.
Bridges said the trio broke through the wall into Tortugas Cafe, continuing on to Therapy South and ending up in the Check ‘n Go building. Bridges said the trio was unsuccessful at opening the safe in Check ‘n Go but was able to gain entry in the safe in Tortugas Cafe. They took approximately $1,000, Bridges said.
The Trussville Police Department has secured surveillance video and is still investigating.
