TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss last week by giving a Dr. Seuss book to about 100 kindergarteners at Paine Primary School.
Rotary members have been regularly attending Paine Primary for reading sessions on Wednesday mornings.
Rotary member Mary Jean Sanspree came up with the idea of presenting the books to the students.
“The kids were so excited to have their very own Dr. Seuss book,” Sanspree said. “It was great to see the smiles on their faces as each one opened his or her book.”
Each child also received a Dr. Seuss hat sticker. Rotarians and friends helping out with the book and sticker distribution were Tom Ruf, David and Betty Cork, Linda Burns, Michael Dean and Patricia Whetstone.
