TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Board of Education last week approved “security related features” for the school system.
Trussville City Schools Facilities Coordinator Barry Davis said the school system would “not disclose” what the features are.
Wyatt General Contractors was the low bidder for the security features with a bid of $142,000.
Last May, the board of education approved access control systems for the Paine Elementary Campus and Hewitt-Trussville Middle School at a cost of ,394. The access control system is a key card/swipe card system in which faculty and staff will swipe a card to enter the building.
In September, the board approved its 2013-2014 capital plan, a 16-item plan that included upgrading access control and safety throughout the school system.
