TRUSSVILLE — A political forum has been scheduled for Thursday, April 3 for the three candidates for the House of Representatives District 44 seat.
The 7 p.m. political forum will be at the Trussville Civic Center.
The candidates are Johnny Amari, Joe Freeman and Danny Garrett, all from Trussville.
Amari is an attorney and small business owner who graduate from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1999. Freeman, who also graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1999, works in public and corporate finance. Garrett is vice president of the Trussville City Board of Education and a 1976 graduate of E.B. Erwin High School. Garrett spent the bulk of his career in the steel, rail and bus manufacturing industries.
Each candidate will have an opportunity, through pre-selected questions, to share their thoughts on current issues.
District 44 includes Clay, Pinson, Trussville and part of northeast Jefferson County. The District 44 seat is open because of the retirement of Rep. Arthur Payne.
Primaries are June 3. The election is in November.
