PINSON — It’s win or stay home time for Pinson Valley.
With its 5-2 loss at Moody on Wednesday night, the Pinson Valley baseball team must win both games of a doubleheader against the Blue Devils today to get into the Class 5A playoffs. First pitch from Pinson Valley is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Moody and Pinson Valley are fighting for the second seed in Class 5A, Area 11. Springville is the area champion.
Pinson Valley hasn’t missed the state playoffs since the 2010 season, when the Indians played in Class 6A. The Indians last season reached the state semifinals and reached the state quarterfinals the two seasons before that.
Clay-Chalkville has already been eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 1999.
