MONTGOMERY — Two area baseball players have been named to the North All-Star team.
Clay-Chalkville junior pitcher Matthew Calvert and Hewitt-Trussville junior shortstop Carter Pharis were named to the team.

The North-South All-Star game is part of the 18th annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week, scheduled for Tuesday, July 22 in Montgomery.

The North swept last year’s doubleheader 6-0 and 13-5. The North leads the all-time series 17-10-1.
