TRUSSVILLE — A Hewitt-Trussville senior baseball player has made his college commitment.
Reid Gunter will play collegiately at Jefferson Davis Community College.
Gunter is projected to pitch and play infield positions at the college level.
As a senior, Gunter was 6-1 on the mound with a 1.30 earned run average in 32.3 innings. He struck out 41 batters.
As a hitter, Gunter batted .250 with eight doubles and 15 runs batted in.
He played in 39 of Hewitt-Trussville’s 41 games.
Gunter makes the 10th Hewitt-Trussville baseball player off the 2014 team to commit to play college baseball. Fellow seniors Riley Stokes and Alec Talley are also heading to Jefferson Davis Community College.
