MONTGOMERY — The Association of County Commissions of Alabama last week approved a resolution expressing appreciation to Sen. Slade Blackwell for the passage of a bill.
Act 2014-415 streamlines the business personal property tax process by creating an online system and a short form for smaller businesses and was supported by the business community and the Alabama Department of Revenue.
The resolution in part states “Blackwell brought his business expertise to bear and worked tirelessly throughout the Legislative Session to move this important legislation through the process.”
The resolution states that Blackwell’s “dedication and determination were instrumental” in the passage of the legislation.
Blackwell is serving his first term in the Alabama State Senate representing Jefferson and Shelby counties in District 15. He is running unopposed for the seat again.
