TRUSSVILLE — Trussville Police Department Lt. Jeff Bridges has confirmed one person was shot in the parking lot of the Courtyard Marriott in Trussville on Sunday.
Bridges said a 19-year-old male was shot with a handgun — a suspected .45 caliber — around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the hotel on Roosevelt Boulevard, near the Pinnacle at Tutwiler Farm shopping center.
Bridges said the victim survived and is still in the hospital.
An investigation is ongoing, and the alleged shooter is not yet in custody, Bridges said.
“This stems from an ongoing argument between the victim/shooter(s), all from the Birmingham area,” Bridges said.
