CLAY — The Clay City Council on Monday motioned to limit city football to people who live in the Clay-Chalkville High School district and those whose family had played in the city before.
The move only applies to football at this time, City Manager Ronnie Dixon said Tuesday.
Dixon said the school’s coaches will be working with the recreational program to develop players who will eventually play in the Clay-Chalkville system.
“The council wanted to be fair to players from last year so they were grandfathered in,” Dixon said in an email.
