PINSON — The Pinson Public Library’s fundraising campaign to provide a summer reading program each day this summer met its goal.
The spring fundraising campaign raised $1,005 online and $1,010 in offline contributions. The goal was $2,000.
Meeting the fundraising goal means the library will have a program each day this summer. The summer reading program began June 2 and runs through July 19.
In the library’s first year of summer reading in 2012, 14 programs were offered for teens and children. Last year, 40 programs were offered for teens, children and adults. This year, there will be about 60 programs.
A post on the library’s Facebook page thanks contributors for “understanding the importance of an outstanding Summer Reading Program in our community.”
The library is located on Main Street in Pinson.
