CLAY — Clay-Chalkville rising senior defensive end Kendell Jones has committed to Mississippi State.
Jones posted this message on his Twitter account Thursday night: “Instead of waiting till the Openingi decided that i will take my Talents to Mississippi State #HailState.”
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Jones has other scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina State, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy and Western Kentucky.
Jones named Mississippi State his leader last month. He camped there earlier this week.
As a junior last season, Jones totaled 18.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
