TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Clerk Lynn Porter has been named Clerk of the Year in Alabama, according to city officials.
Trussville Parks and Recreation Director David Vinson called Porter the “best (city clerk) in the state” at Tuesday’s Trussville City Council meeting.
Councilman Alan Taylor said it’s a “great honor” for Porter. He also thanked her for her service to the city.
Porter said there are 14 districts in Alabama, and clerks are nominated and then a winner is chosen.
Porter has been the city clerk since 1986.
The Trussville City Council will likely recognize Porter more formally soon.
