CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A former Hewitt-Trussville football player and coach has become the youngest high school offensive coordinator in Tennessee, according to Oak Mountain head football coach Cris Bell.
Bell said J.J. Roupe, who coached football and baseball at Hewitt-Trussville and Oak Mountain, was recently named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Northwest High School in Clarksville, Tenn.
Roupe is a 2009 Hewitt-Trussville High School graduate and a three-year letter winner in football and baseball, Bell said.
Roupe later played wide receiver at Samford University.
