PINSON — The Pinson City Council will likely hold a special meeting Thursday, July 31 to consider the contract for the city park project.
Mayor Hoyt Sanders said during last week’s meeting that the council will “probably” need the special meeting to discuss or even approve the contract, talk about a groundbreaking and more.
Sanders said the city has closed on the bonds for the project. The city earlier this month received an AA- credit rating on its $2.11 million warrant for the planned park project.
The park will be located near Center Point Parkway between Sweeny Hollow Road and Glen Brook Road. The city council hopes the park will be able to be opened in conjunction with Pinson’s 200th anniversary as a community in 2015.
If the meeting is called this week, it will likely be scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Pinson City Hall.
