CLAY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Boys and Girls Club located on Old Springville Road in the Clay-Chalkville area.
Sgt. Jack Self said that just after 2 a.m. on July 22, deputies were alerted to a burglary alarm and the Boys and Girls Club at 2380 Old Springville Road.
They arrived and spoke to representative of the club who told them that a small window had been broken out of a door on the back of the building, Self said. Three male suspects entered the club and stole Xbox, Wii and PlayStation gaming consoles.
The suspects left on foot. Surveillance video captured the burglary and has been turned over to sheriff’s office detectives.
The case remains under investigation.
An email sent to Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama Vice President Daryl Rogers wasn’t immediately returned Thursday morning.
Last June, an 11-year-old and 15-year-old were charged with burglarizing the Boys and Girls Club.
