TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Tribune editor Gary Lloyd will sign copies of “Trussville, Alabama: A Brief History” at Books-A-Million in Trussville on Saturday, July 26.
The signing will be at the book store on U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Published by The History Press in Charleston, S.C., “Trussville, Alabama: A Brief History” features information about all things Trussville, including its early beginnings, the Cahaba Project, Cahaba River, landmarks, people, schools, churches, businesses, government history and how the city looks today.
The 128-page book is available wherever books are sold, and also online at www.historypress.net and www.amazon.com. The book is also available as an e-book.
Lloyd began working on the book last spring, spending several hours most weekends researching at the Trussville Public Library.
Lloyd, a Trussville native, has been the editor of the Trussville Tribune from November 2010 to June 2012 and January 2013 to present. Lloyd has also been a general assignment reporter for The Magee (Miss.) Courier/Simpson County News; an associate editor at Cahaba Media Group in Birmingham; and a freelance writer for The Tuscaloosa News and The Birmingham News. Lloyd earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Alabama in December 2009, minoring in American studies. He graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 2006.
