TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Planning and Zoning Board at its Monday, Aug. 11 meeting will consider recommending two tracts of land be joined for a future funeral home.
A July 15 City of Trussville notice states that the meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Trussville City Hall.
The notice states that Deerfoot Memorial wishes to join two tracts of land on Deerfoot Parkway together. The property that was purchased was in two tracts, one with frontage along the road and a smaller tract behind it with no road frontage, Trussville City Clerk Lynn Porter said.
Trussville City Councilman Alan Taylor said in March that a funeral home would likely be constructed on Deerfoot Parkway. Taylor said the area where the funeral home will likely be located is on the left side of Deerfoot Parkway, close to U.S. Highway 11.
