CLAY — Clay-Chalkville junior baseball player Thomas Johns has made his college commitment.
Johns on Monday night verbally committed to Auburn.
As a sophomore last season, Johns played in 34 games. He had 120 plate appearances and struck out just nine times. He batted .412, hit three home runs and had 39 runs batted in. He had 12 doubles. On the mound, he totaled a 6-1 record with a 2.91 earned run average in 40 innings.
Johns primarily plays first base and pitcher for the Cougars.
