TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Board of Education is likely to add the Cahaba Cove neighborhood off Roper Road to the zone for the Magnolia Place elementary school site.
The board Monday placed this new enrollment zone on the table, pending approval at a later date.
The Magnolia Place elementary school enrollment was projected to be 371 students. The new enrollment number projects to be 394 with the possible addition of Cahaba Cove. The neighborhood was originally zoned for Paine Primary School.
In other Trussville City Schools news, the board approved geotechnical testing at the Magnolia Place school site, to be performed by Bhate Geosciences Corporation. The estimated budget for the work is $24,000, and includes an evaluation of subsurface conditions, site access preparation and equipment rental, a shear wave velocity survey, and a post-report consultation and review of earthwork specifications.
