HOOVER — Clay-Chalkville offensive coordinator Stuart Floyd can add another title in front of his name.
Fortune teller.
Floyd intervened on a reporter’s interview with Cougars junior quarterback Tyrell Pigrome after a 44-23 win over Niceville (Fla.) at Hoover on Saturday. He wanted a hug from Pigrome.
Floyd said that about a week ago, he had a dream. It was about Pigrome showing out in his first career start, and getting interviewed about his performance after the game. It all happened.
Pigrome said his preparation for Saturday’s game was all about an intense focus, to not turn the football over. He didn’t.
He completed 11-of-14 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 16 times for 213 yards and three scores. His 84-yard touchdown run is a SportsCenter Top 10 Play nominee.
Pigrome said Clay-Chalkville made some mistakes and the team can always get better. He said the immediate goal is to run the offense at a quicker pace.
