HOMEWOOD — Jefferson County Schools has set seven community zone forums to discuss its five-year strategic planning project.
Marcia Burke, John Osburn and Paul Fanning from Burke Enterprises, LLC will be assisting the school system as facilitators in the strategic planning project.
Community forums will be held to allow employees, parents, students and members of the public to give input into the planning.
The first meeting is a mayors’ reception and meeting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Fultondale High School. The first community zone forum is scheduled for Sept. 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McAdory High School.
On Oct. 6, a community zone forum will be held at Shades Valley High School. Another is scheduled at Minor High School on Oct. 7. The forum will be at Hueytown High School on Oct. 14 and at Gardendale High School on Oct. 27.
On Oct. 28, the final community zone forum will be held at Pinson Valley High School.
All community zone forums are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Jefferson County Board of Education in July voted to award an $80,000 contract to consulting firm Burke Enterprises, LLC to oversee the development of the strategic plan. The goal of the development of the strategic plan is to include all municipal mayors, stakeholders, parents and school employees.
