TRUSSVILLE — Wintzell’s Oyster House may still be coming to Trussville, but it won’t be located at the former Costa’s Barbecue restaurant building at 5893 Trussville Crossings Blvd.
“The location we were pursuing did not work out because of the high cost to remodel and to convert to our concept,” Wintzell’s Oyster House President Bob Donlon said in an email.
Donlon said the restaurant is still “very interested” in the Trussville market, but its focus right now is the new Wintzell’s in Greenville, which should open in November.
“I would like to think that we would be in Trussville in 2015,” Donlon said.
Wintzell’s was originally planning to open in Trussville this April. A post on the restaurant’s website stated as recently as last week to stay tuned for information on hiring and a grand opening, which could have been this winter. That post is no longer on the website.
