JEFFERSON COUNTY — Distinguished Young Women of Jefferson County is now accepting applications from high school girls graduating in 2016 and residing in Jefferson County.
The deadline for receiving applications is March 1, 2015.
There’s no entry fee. Participants compete in the categories of fitness, self expression, interview, scholastics and talent. Any participant in the program may qualify for a full tuition, room and board scholarship with a qualifying GPA and test score, ranging from $12,000 to $60,000.
The program will take place July 17-18, 2015 at Samford University.

During the 2015 program, participants were awarded $14,700, a record amount for cash-tuition scholarships, as well as more than $1.5 million in college-granted scholarships from Troy University, Auburn University, the University of Alabama and University of Alabama-Birmingham.
