TRUSSVILLE — The new Hewitt-Trussville Stadium will not open Friday, Oct. 3 when Hewitt-Trussville hosts Oak Mountain, Trussville City Schools Superintendent Pattie Neill said.
The homecoming game, scheduled for 7 p.m., will be played at Jack Wood Stadium.
“Our homecoming theme is ‘Light up the Night’ and we encourage everyone to join us as we turn on the stadium lights for the last HTHS homecoming at Jack Wood Stadium,” Neill said.
Oct. 3 had been the target date to open the new stadium. Hewitt-Trussville will have remaining home games Oct. 24 against Hoover and Oct. 31 against Clay-Chalkville.
The new Hewitt-Trussville Stadium is being constructed by Trussville-based Blalock Building Company for $14,626,550.
