TUSCALOOSA — A Pinson man and former Bryant High School teacher was jailed in Tuscaloosa on Friday after his arrest for sexual contact with a student.
Tuscaloosa Police Department juvenile investigators arrested Reginald Swanson Jr., 22, of Pinson, at 10:54 a.m. Friday. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred Sept. 16 during school hours in a classroom at Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa.
During the incident the suspect allegedly had sexual contact with a 16-year-old male student, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Swanson Jr. turned himself in at the Tuscaloosa Police Department after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Swanson Jr. was charged with one count of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19. He was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $1,000 bond.
