JEFFERSON COUNTY — Clay-Chalkville, Pinson Valley and Hewitt-Trussville are set to compete in next week’s area volleyball tournaments.
The Lady Cougars will host the Class 6A, Area 12 tournament on Tuesday. They are scheduled to face Huffman at 4 p.m. before Pinson Valley and Shades Valley take the court an hour later. The championship is at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Clay-Chalkville varsity volleyball team won the Jefferson County Tournament earlier this season.

Coach Karen Riggins and the Lady Huskies will travel to Mountain Brook for the Class 7A, Area 6 tournament Monday.
Hewitt-Trussville takes on the host Spartans at 4 p.m. The 5:15 p.m. match features Spain Park against Vestavia Hills, with the winner advancing to the finals, where it meets the winner of Hewitt-Trussville and Mountain Brook at 6:30 p.m.
Each area’s champion and runner-up advance on to regional play later in the week.
