CLAY — It’s unanimous.
Clay-Chalkville is again No. 1 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A poll, but the Cougars managed to garner all 31 first-place votes. They’re a unanimous No. 1 team.
The rest of the Class 6A top 10, in order, include Opelika, Saraland, Spanish Fort, Florence, McAdory, Blount, Benjamin Russell, Shades Valley and Daphne.
In Class 7A, Hoover received 23 of the 31 first-place votes and remained No. 1 after beating Hewitt-Trussville 38-24 last week. The rest of the top 10, in order, are Fairhope, Central-Phenix City, Oak Mountain, Baker, Bob Jones, Foley, Gadsden City, Prattville and Murphy.
Hewitt-Trussville garnered six votes for top 10 consideration, essentially ranking them No. 12 behind No. 11 Buckhorn.
