TRUSSVILLE — More lighting is coming for Husky Parkway in Trussville.
The Trussville City Council on Tuesday authorized Mayor Gene Melton to pursue purchasing 10 street lights for Husky Parkway from Hewitt-Trussville High School to the Trussville-Clay Road intersection.
Melton said the lighting of that stretch of road is necessary because it was “a little dark” for fans who parked at the high school and walked to Hewitt-Trussville Stadium for the Hoover football game Oct. 24.
The city council also awarded a bid to Sansom Equipment for $71,602 for a new vacuum truck.
