TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council last week voted to proclaim November as Adoption Awareness Month in the city.
The proclamation states that Trussville citizens recognize “that all children need love, support, security, and a place to call home.”
It states that when birth families are unable to meet the ongoing needs of children born to them, “adoptions which are humane, honest, and rooted in the understanding that adoption does not erase a child’s connections to the family into which they were born are the best alternative.”
The proclamation goes on to state that adoptive parents and families who have adopted children deserve respect and support.
