PINSON — For the second consecutive year, Pinson Valley and Mortimer Jordan will meet for a spring football scrimmage.
According to Pinson Valley head coach Matt Glover, his team will welcome the Blue Devils into Willie Adams Stadium on May 15, 2015 for three sessions, including ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity action.
Class 5A Mortimer Jordan should serve as a tough test for Pinson Valley, which will once again be competing in one of the harshest regions in the state next season in Class 6A, Region 6.
The Blue Devils finished last season 10-2 after falling in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. East Limestone did the honors by a score of 10-0 on Nov. 14. Mortimer Jordan spent most of last season bouncing around the Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10 poll, finishing at No. 6.
An Indians’ defense that must replace six starters from 2014 will be put to the test against Blue Devils signal caller Duncan Hodges, who will return as the starter at quarterback.
Pinson Valley is coming off a 5-6 season in which it finished fourth in Class 6A, Region 6. The Indians lost in the opening round of the playoffs, 14-10, at Southside-Gadsden.
